New Orleans Riverfront

As you know I spent a long weekend in New Orleans for my birthday last year. I recently returned to NOLA for a business trip; I was there to give a speech about the value of union membership and the event took place at a hotel right on the Mississippi river. I was pretty busy while I was there so I didn't get to venture out too much, but when I did stray from the conference I ate at some fantastic places in walking distance from the riverfront.

Order: there's one on the ground floor of the Hilton Riverwalk and there's no line in the mornings. 

WHAT TO DO

Stroll the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. Both are walking distance from the Riverfront. If you want to explore even closer you can stroll along the New Orleans Riverwalk and watch the steamboats and cruise ships come in. Inside of the Riverwalk is a shopping mall connected to the Hilton Riverside hotel. Here you'll find a few outlet stores and a food court. You can also walk to the intersection of Baronne and O'Keefe streets and buy souvenirs at Rouses Supermarket, sip frose at Willa Jean or shop for boho chic frocks at Stonefree.
