ABOUT
Hi! I'm Brea Ellis, and I'm originally from Washington, DC where my entire family still lives. In 2008 while living in San Francisco, CA I took a job at a start-up and for the first time in my career I was free to wear whatever I wanted to work.
I emailed my mom a photo of my first-day-of-work outfit, but because she wasn't all that tech saavy she didn't know how to open the attachment! Day after day I'd send her photos of my fun work outfits, and she would get frustrated not being able to view them.
Finally I told her...I'll post them online in a blog...and that's how I started my first blog "HOW WAS YOUR DAY?" A daily account of what I wore everyday for an entire year.
I then created WHAT I WORE: tip to toe! It became a resource for working women looking for help answering the age old question...WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Never one to sit still, I’ve travelled the world as an International Flight Attendant, and I currently travel the United States as a Client Manager and Corporate Spokesperson. Wear I Went will allow you to follow along on my next adventure.
This site will also feature outfit posts, event recaps and has been featured in the Style section of both the Washington Post and New York Times. I’ve collaborated with Eddie Bauer, Rent the Runway, Ann Taylor and more.
For business inquires email me at contact@breaellis.com and make sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
FAQS:
WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU USE? iPhone 7+ or Sony NEX-3N
WHO TAKES YOUR PHOTOS? I used to put my camera on automatic timer, balance it on something at near eye-level, then run and pose before the photos snaps. It was hilarious to watch! I now work with professional photographers; my favorites have been Vivi, Rosa and Hart Speax.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING? I started blogging on Tumblr in 2008, posting what I wore everyday for one year.
