What I Wore: tip to toe (To the White House)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM OUR NATION'S CAPITAL!
I cannot express how much it meant to me to go on the White House Holiday Tour. I am a fourth generation native Washingtonian and I've lived in Washington DC for almost three decades (the last decade spent mostly in California, but I'm home now) and in the past I've considered the White House just another government building downtown, but a few years ago I wanted to take an out-of-town guest to visit the President's home and realized visiting the White House is no small feat...even for a local!
I have been "on the list" for at least 3 White House Tours that were cancelled for various reasons, but yesterday evening I had the pleasure of FINALLY going inside the White House and my visit was certainly worth the wait.

I STOOD IN THE DRIVEWAY OF THE PRESIDENT'S HOME AND WATCHED HIM TAKE OFF IN  MARINE ONE (Presidential Helicopter) FOR A HAWAIIAN HOLIDAY WITH HIS FAMILY.

I SPOKE WITH THE NEW MAYOR OF DC, VINCENT GRAY WHO WAS ALSO TAKING THE TOUR AND MARVELLED AT THE STATE DINING ROOM (i took a picture with him, but it didn't come out...maybe I'll see him again in Target like I do the Former Mayor Marion Barry).

I HAD HOPED MICHELLE OBAMA (or Bo-bama the dog) WOULD BE AROUND TO SAY HELLO, BUT OVERALL I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAPPIER TO FINALLY VISIT THE WHITE HOUSE.

WHAT I WORE: TO THE WHITE HOUSE
