DTLR

I guess there are some things that even a fourth generation native Washingtonienne doesn't know about this city. Like the fact that there is an local urban shoe and apparel store called Downtown Locker Room (DTLR) that has been based in Maryland for over 30 years and has 80 stores in Alabama, Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, the Carolina's, Virginia and Washington, DC. The company is run like a hip hop record label with a full-time Street Team and Music Department.  The stores are closely tied to the community and offers "the latest CD's, DVD's, video games and tickets to exclusive parties and events."

Although it's targeted to men 13-21 I found some great pieces that I would rock, like skater tees and socks from Trukfit, the Lil' Wayne backed clothing line, or graphic print sweatshirts by Ice Cream. There was even an RG-3 sweatshirt by Filthy Dripped that I had my eye on! Have you heard of DTLR?
