I recently fell back in love with an old favorite...Banana Republic. I haven't shopped at Banana Republic for almost a decade. When I lived in San Francisco it was nice to go into the flagship store on Grant Avenue because the building was huge and had some beautiful architecture. That location also seemed to carry a line of Banana Republic intimates I never saw any wear else. I still have some of the camisoles I purchased way back then and I know they had the best selection of men's boxer shorts.
Banana Republic's recent makeover is the work of Marissa Webb, who is a designer in her own right. The brand is hoping she'll do for BR what Jenna Lyons has done for J.Crew. They want to lure back old customers who outgrew the brand and attract new customers who never thought BR was their style. In true Gap Inc. fashion the store is usually on sale. I scored both this dress and jacket for at least 30% off.
Most surprising has been how well made the new collection of shoes is. I purchased THE MOST COMFORTABLE pair of suede pumps as well as these adorable jelly sandals that feel very Valentino. Check out the New BR and let me know what you think!
